“I perform and entertain with the clients in mind, always focusing on the needs of the event, fully aware that I’m not playing a gig . . . I’m providing ambience or motivation for a party. It’s not about ‘me’ at an event, it’s about the people there having a great time. The qualification is, of course, being a great singer, saxophone player, musician, and DJ, but that’s not why the people are there, they want entertainment and what that means to different groups is very diverse.”

“Live background music for drinks or dinner is just that. I sing and play the right music at just the right volume to enhance the atmosphere, creating the perfect mood. Drinks receptions tend to have a higher audience volume of chatter, so the background music can be a little more energetic than dinner, as a rule, subtle is best. It’s all about adding to the ambience, not causing a distraction.”

“During my live evening performances, I bridge the gap between a band and a disco. Many venues, especially stately homes, don’t have the space to accommodate a band properly. So an entertainment act representing the key aspects of a live band, a frontman singing and engaging the audience with that splash of a live instrument, is the perfect alternative. The range of material is expanded, and the sound levels can be controlled appropriately to suit both the venue and the audience.”

“As a DJ, my aim is simple, play the right music and let the people party. I don’t, as a rule, talk on the mic unless there is something relevant to say, so rarely. I take requests before and during the evening and mix them with my extensive music knowledge to create just the right set for any given crowd.”

“Growing fast in popularity is live saxophone improvising over contemporary and classic dance tracks. The art of playing over dance tracks is to provide a visual and live element to a disco, adding energy with that unexpected twist to the tunes you know and love. This can be an alternative early evening or pre-dinner drinks performance.”
